1. Introduction

Overview:

Musicade is a mobile application designed to create a connected ecosystem for the entertainment industry. The platform enables fast-rising artists, DJs, event organizers, venues, and fans to connect seamlessly in one place. Beyond artist discovery, Musicade allows users to build, book, and connect — creating events, selling tickets, and discovering entertainment professionals across their local city.

By digitizing workflows that were previously managed manually, Musicade offers a scalable solution for artist visibility, fan engagement, and professional networking within the entertainment space. The platform is available at musicade.app and was founded by Jerome Dotson Jr..

Musicade Review

Challenge:

Developing Musicade required solving a range of industry and technical challenges, including:

  • Lack of Visibility for Upcoming Artists: Providing exposure and discovery tools for emerging talent.
  • Fragmented Ecosystem: Unifying artists, DJs, fans, event organizers, and venues into one seamless platform.
  • Event Management Complexity: Enabling easy event creation, ticketing, and refund processes.
  • Location-Centric Discovery: Ensuring recommendations and connections are tailored to users’ specific cities and regions.
  • Scalable MVP Prioritization: Narrowing down a broad vision (events, streaming, messaging, etc.) into a focused, achievable MVP.

2. The Problem

Background:

Before Musicade, Jerome was already manually coordinating events, managing artists, and facilitating connections between entertainment professionals. However, these efforts were time-intensive, fragmented, and lacked scalability.

Pain Points:

  • No visibility for upcoming artists and DJs
  • Fans lacked a reliable way to connect with rising talent or discover events
  • Event organizers had no centralized platform for exposure and ticketing
  • Venues and crew members (photographers, technicians, security, etc.) struggled to reach the right audiences
  • Manual processes limited growth and efficiency
